The first-born in the line of Canon mirrorless cameras, who were taught to record videos in ultra-high resolution 4K (3840x2160 pixels, 24/25 fps). I shoot vlogs with this camera. I was looking for a compact but high-quality solution with a fast manual zoom. I chose it precisely because of its compactness + not bad image quality. The shadows in the video editor are very well drawn out, even better in the photo. Autofocus is really fast, but I mostly focus with my hands. The funny thing is that there is no autofocus on 4K video, more precisely, there is no fast autofocus, there is only a standard one that no one uses. For that, it is at 1080p, and this upsets me, because at concerts I need autofocus at 4K. There is also another joint, in the flash. It opens only by hand. Is it really that expensive to install a spring? It doesn't bother me much, but sometimes it's inconvenient. I plan to buy a width and a fix for portraits for it, but something about the optics park is not very happy. I read on the forums that many people use a converter and use ordinary Ken lenses, but I still don’t understand if autofocus will work there. Photos are detailed and well-researched. I forgot to write that here is a very high-quality screen, the photos are very detailed on it, although I recently discovered that you can directly connect your phone to the photo and watch everything directly from it, so I use it as a viewfinder (sometimes). And speaking of the viewfinder, although it is equipped with a screen off sensor, I still don’t understand why it was necessary to place the viewfinder in the center of the camera? It is not comfortable. Otherwise, I’m happy with everything, for a blog / vlog + non-professional photography this is a great option Shadows are perfectly drawn out, even very thick ones. Fast and tenacious autofocus (but it didn't work at 4K...) Good screen. The battery works quietly for several hours. Very simple and convenient menu. Compact. The whale lens is very worthy for its money. A small park of optics for this system. The viewfinder is located inconveniently (in the center). Что купить М5 или М50? #
по параметрам М50 как бы мощнее выходит но у М5 есть дополнительные кнопки. Так вот стоит ли переплачивать за эти кнопки? Или М50 со своим функционалом круче?

Canon EOS M50 is an amateur mirrorless camera for fans of both photo and video shooting. In the photography mode, the model produces a detailed picture with a wide dynamic range, the video is recorded on the camera in resolution up to 4K (3840x2160 pixels). But first things first.
Developed ergonomics
The mirrorless camera is sharpened into a compact magnesium alloy body with dimensions of 116x88x59 mm. The weight of the “carcass” of the camera is about 390 g. The whale lens with a set of focal lengths of 15-45 mm and a “floating” aperture of f / 3.5-6.3 makes the camera only 130 g heavier. The model fits comfortably in the hand, and all the buttons on its “body are in their proper places. You can also change the shooting parameters by tapping on the touch screen, which is made rotatable in all axes for viewing from non-standard angles. It is also possible to build the field of the future frame through the "eye" of the electronic viewfinderlocated in the centre of the upper edge of the camera.
Serious "podkapotka"
Under the hood, the Canon EOS M50 has an APS-C sensor with a resolution of 24.1 MP. Image processing is occupied by a high-performance DIGIC 8 processor. It also provides the camera with a rate of fire of up to 10 fps when photographing highly dynamic scenes and recording 4K video. The only “but” is that mirrorless videos are written with a solid crop: from 1.6x in FullHD format to 2.56x in ultra-high resolution UltraHD. Also, the main “feature” of Canon cameras is not available in 4K — Dual Pixel CMOS AF autofocus. In total, from 99 to 143 focus points are used to aim at the target (depending on the lens “wound” on the “carcass”).
Travel photography
The light sensitivity range of the camera's image sensor is measured from ISO 100 to 25600 (with software extension up to ISO 51200). The user has the right to count on an acceptable result when shooting at ISO up to 3200, in the future, the detail of the picture is “eaten up” by noise. With mobile gadgets, the camera keeps in touch via Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth Low Energy protocols. Models would have even longer "survivability" (over the claimed 235 shots on a single battery charge) and the price of the Canon EOS M50 in the role of an everyday or travel camera with interchangeable lenses would not exist at all.
