It's always nice to have a well-made thing in your hands. My first digital camera was Canon's A610 Soapbox. But requests are growing and a month ago I bought my first EOS 600D DSLR complete with an 18-55mm IS II lens. The camera is made in Taiwan, which in itself is very good. In everything from the resolution of pictures and ending with the ability to shoot video, you can see the level of performance. The picture quality is excellent. A large 18MP matrix gives excellent results. I liked the complete lens with stabilization for its versatility. Enough for the first time. Nice body materials, there is a feeling of reliability. Despite the size, it has a comfortable grip. Management available. Another convenience is the swivel screen. Not to say that you need it often, but sometimes it helps. The battery is quite capacious, although the device is still quite new and it's too early to talk about batteries. Now the frosts have begun, then the winter filming will show :))) The ability to shoot HD-video with 60 frames / sec. True, autofocus does not work at the same time (or maybe I set something wrong in the settings) ((( When shooting at high ISOs, the matrix makes noise. At 800 it is still tolerable, but at 1600 you already want to hug and cry. In principle, the problem is fixed by post-processing photos, but the detail suffers.

I was a happy owner of a Sony DSC-H9 camera (a solid soap dish), with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens and a focal length of 31 - 465 mm. The color rendition is perfect (natural), the detailing is simply pleasing. For 5 years he made 52300 pictures. In a room with incandescent lamps, it began to malfunction ..... I decided to sell it and step up a notch in terms of filming quality. Sold. I bought a Canon EOS 600D kit with a Canon 18-55 IS II lens. In two days I squeezed everything out of this kit, shot 715 frames, landscape and portrait. Was defeated simply in "SHOCK". My wife immediately offered to sell and buy a modern (soap dish) Sony, with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. Canon EOS 600D kit; 1) Color rendition is not natural (not live). Artificial 2) Detailing is worse by 50% compared to Sony DSC-H9, with a lot of settings 3) Image stabilization is only optical, and there is no electronic 4) There is no constant autofocus, when shooting video.
It turns out that they did not step a step higher, but "HIT" the money. 4 times more expensive, but there is no quality. I found a DSLR specialist who shoots weddings with a Canon EOS 60D and showed him the best shots of the Sony DSC-H9 and Canon EOS 600D. Summary: what did you want, with a whale lens, and showed two of your lenses, in the amount of $ 6,000. If you shot with a Carl Zeiss lens, it doesn’t pull on the worst. Just KAPETS. Now you need to save up for a lens in order to reach at least the level of the Sony DSC-H9. You've made a step, you need to move on. Good luck everyone. The carcass is normal. Both are good, but I still took 5100 / 18-105 for myself (at first I was afraid to take it with a whale, but in Nikon the whales will be better) I turned the sharpness in the camera profile settings and the sharpness rings about a miracle! and on an open hole, the mother washes the background, don’t worry, in general, a super car, it even disappeared and I think for a long time the desire to take more glass to it, I shoot only in raw, (you can turn the picture inside out)

The main differences between Canon EOS 600D and Canon EOS 550D:
Scene Intelligent Auto — The system analyzes the frame and automatically selects the optimal settings, leaving the photographer to focus solely on the composition.
Automatic Picture Style mode that fine-tunes colours on its own so that users are not distracted from shooting the desired scene.
Basic+ mode is able to change the atmosphere of the frame and create the right mood with one of eight functions, including Warm Colours, Cool Colours and Rich Colours.
The "Basic+" mode has two types of settings:
The Canon EOS 600D allows you to shoot Full HD (1080p) video. The EOS 600D has a digital video zoom that uses the centre area of the sensor from 3x to 10x magnification while maintaining Full HD quality.
The camera supports full manual exposure control and 30fps, 25fps and 24fps at 1080p, and 60fps and 50fps at 720p.
The video insertion mode divides the video into fragments of two, four or eight seconds. After recording, the clips are stored in the video insert album and combined into a single clip. You can add audio from files loaded to the camera and view the result on the camera's LCD or on an HDTV via the built-in mini HDMI connector.

The EOS 600D is equipped with a 7.7 cm (3.0") Clear View LCD 3:2 vari-angle LCD display with a resolution of approximately 1,040,000 dots. The display is covered with a triple anti-glare coating and a smudge-resistant fluorine coating. The display tilts 175°, after which it can be rotated 90° forward or 180° backward.

- Toy Camera Effect: Allows you to achieve colours that are typical of toy cameras. The image is also darkened at the four corners. The picture looks a little blurry and slightly grainy. You can choose warm or cool shades.
- Miniature effect: Used to sharpen part of an image. The orientation (vertical or horizontal) can be changed by pressing the INFO button.
