High performance top gaming graphics card of 2021 based on Nvidia Ampere microarchitecture. Designed for use in high-end gaming systems equipped with WQHD/4K resolution monitors. It is aimed at demanding gamers, enthusiasts and e-sportsmen who want to get a high frame rate in all popular game projects of 2015-2021 at maximum graphics quality settings. It is the result of upgrading the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card (on the market since 2020).
This model, like its predecessor, is based on the GA102 GPU (Ampere microarchitecture, 8 nm). But, in the case of the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GAMING OC 12G graphics card, the GPU has more active functional units (80 streaming multiprocessors instead of 64) and works with an increased amount of high-speed GDDR6X graphics memory (12 GB versus 10 GB). These changes had a very positive impact on performance, which came close to the flagship model GeForce RTX 3090. Thanks to the 2nd generation RT cores and 3rd generation tensor cores, this graphics card shows increased performance when rendering real-time ray tracing (Real-Time Ray Tracing) supports innovative DLSS technology and can be used to solve machine learning problems.
