USB 2.0
— the earliest of the current USB standards. It has very limited characteristics, especially by the standards of SSD modules — data transfer rate up to 480 Mbps, power supply up to 2.5 W. As a result, this version is gradually being replaced by more advanced USB 3.2 gen1 and USB 3.2 gen2. So nowadays, USB 2.0 connectors can be found mainly among low-cost and outdated models; both are designed primarily for classic hard drives and are poorly suited for SSDs.Note that devices with USB 2.0 are quite compatible with ports of newer versions, although such a connection does not give any speed gain. At the same time, unlike other standards, this version uses only the traditional full-size USB A connector; the combination of a USB-C plug with a USB 2.0 version is almost never found.
