Spring-piston
— the action of such rifles is based on the use of a spring-loaded piston located in a cylinder. Thus, the air from the cylinder is pushed into the barrel and provides the movement of the bullet. This is the simplest and one of the most popular types of pneumatics today. The reasons for this are low cost (including in use — only bullets are needed for shooting), reliability, ease of handling and maintenance, as well as ample features for improvements. On the other hand, rifles of this type require cocking before each shot, and in some models this requires considerable force; in addition, they have a kind of recoil and emit a rather loud clanging pop when fired.
