It keeps heat a little less than it is written in the instructions, when I checked, the water was not boiling water, but still hot. But this is quite enough for some hikes or short distances. The thermos is really excellent, even with minor falls it has not lost its properties and the body has not crumpled anywhere. Also a beautiful blue color. A small, handy lid with a button that locks itself so it won't leak. Stainless steel, easy-cleaning Teflon coating on the inside of the flask.
