Wheeled non-self-propelled rotary lawnmower of the middle class with an economical petrol engine from a well-known Swedish manufacturer. It is positioned as an affordable product of the middle price category, intended for the care of adjacent territories with a flat terrain and a total area of 300 to 900 m². Equipped with a durable and powerful 4-stroke single-cylinder petrol engine STIGA ST 120 OHV (123 cm³, 2.6 hp), which is made according to the overhead valve scheme.
This engine is perfectly balanced, has an impressive motor resource and provides minimal exhaust toxicity. Its high torque, transmitted to a large bladed blade made of tool steel, makes mowing 41 cm wide with ease. There is also a mode of operation with the ejection of cut grass back. It has six levels of cutting height adjustment from 22 to 65 mm (synchronous setting, using one central switch). Equipped with wide treaded wheels, manoeuvrable and easy to maintain. Despite the weight of 25 kg, leaves no visible marks on the lawn. A beautiful lawn near a country house was my old dream. Probably its roots go back to those Hollywood films that I watched as a child in the late 80s, early 90s. And as in those films, everything had to be real, high-quality, branded. It took me almost 43 years to realize this dream, that is, I completed the house already at the beginning of the fifth decade. The lawn did not appear immediately, but I bought a lawn mower this spring. I chose among expensive branded models and most of all I liked this Swede. In fact, it was collected from Slovakia, but it has Swedish roots, there is no doubt about it. Very rarely, but there are things that cause us a multiple wow effect. For men, this is often a car or other more or less complex equipment, but this is not a typical case. I was fascinated by ... a lawn mower))) Joking aside, and this is a really cool device, made, as they say, to last. There is a lot of metal in the design and plastic is used only where there are no noticeable mechanical loads. A huge two-bladed knife is hidden under a steel deck painted with ultra-resistant powder paint. It is mounted directly on the shaft of a one and a half kilowatt four-stroke gasoline engine with a single cylinder volume of 100 cubes. The engine does not have manual throttle control, that is, it has an automatic control system that itself regulates speed depending on the load. Special mention deserves soft rubberized wheels on rolling bearings. They give a very soft and smooth ride. Like any, even the most technologically advanced gasoline mower, it makes noise and stinks of exhaust. The full five-year warranty only works if the annual service is carried out by the officials. No trips to the service, only a year warranty. |

According to the manufacturer, the Stiga Collector 43 lawn mower is designed for lawn care up to 1000 m2. It is equipped with a 4-stroke gasoline engine with a working volume of 123 cm3 and a power of 2.6 hp. This engine is used on many Stiga lawn mowers and cultivators, and is also installed on Alpina, Russels garden equipment and several other brands of mowers. Judging by the reviews, the engine starts easily, economically consumes 95th gasoline, does not overheat, lasts a long time and is very easy to maintain.
Construction details and operating notes
The deck is made of thick and durable steel. It is painted with a powder coating, which protects the metal well from corrosion. In the design of this lawn mower, there is generally a lot of metal (this is how it differs from budget equipment), and only those parts that do not experience heavy loads during operation are made of plastic. But, despite the 25 kg net weight, this lawn mower is very easy to move due to high-quality wheels mounted on ball bearings. The wheels have a large diameter (200 mm) and thick soft molded rubber rims. It should be noted that the track of the mower is quite wide (a little narrower at the front than at the rear), and the wheels protrude far beyond the body. Therefore, when mowing grass along a fence, curb or garden bed, an uncut strip of vegetation about 10 cm wide remains (it may be worth buying an additional trimmer for these small uncut areas).
Everything is done for your comfort
The mower handle is adjustable in height, but only a little - it has only two possible positions. But the mowing height can be adjusted much more precisely - there are 6 fixed positions ranging from 22 to 65 mm. Adjustment of all wheels is carried out synchronously - just move the lever. The cut grass is collected in a large-capacity grass collector (60 l). It is rigid (made entirely of plastic) and has an indicator, by the position of which you can immediately see when it is time to shake out plant residues from the container).
