Moderately large 4K TV, which allows you to offer the audience a wide range of entertainment options. The “facade” of the model is headed by a 58-inch diagonal screen on an IPS-matrix substrate with 10-bit colour depth. What does it give in fact? At a minimum, support for displaying over 1 billion shades of colour. In general, the Philips 58PUS7555 display shows a picture at a maximum resolution of 3840x2160 pixels, works with content in HDR10 + and Dolby Vision, is notable for wide vertical and horizontal viewing angles (178 ° in all planes). The SAPHI Smart Shell provides viewer access to online content sources and the App Gallery. The main thing is to connect the TV to the global network via the LAN connector or via Wi-Fi. Third-party video signal sources communicate with the model via...HDMI (3 pcs.) and USB (2 pcs.). Additional assets of the TV include 2 x 10 W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound. The TV panel has mounting compatibility with VESA standard mounts in the dimension of 300x200 mm.

great model, love it

...Addition to my previous review: after updating the software of this TV in December 2020, the Youtube application, when the TV is connected via Wifi, now shows every time (before that, every other time or many times). Find out whether it is displayed for you Dolby Vision content (the second version of HDR available on this TV) is possible by the appearance of the corresponding inscription when the video starts playing and by the presence of the “Picture Style” setting - “Dolby Vision light” and “Dolby Vision dark” YouTube through the corresponding application (like other applications) can be watched with "Natural Motion" and all other TV settings (full compatibility with TV functions). When watching video from a flash drive or via the network (DLNA), the video has a noticeable "smoke" effect when objects move (they are followed by their silhouette ), or it can be described as “an object floating across the screen” (a wave-silhouette of an object is visible when moving). But this is not always visible and you can get used to this noise, but it cannot be removed - apparently this is a drawback due to the way the TV itself processes the video signal, since if you connect the TV to a PC, then the video from the computer (and, probably, any other device) will not have such a “smoke wave” effect. Another plus is the built-in browser, but it is very slow (enough for searching information, but unlikely for video) and without functions for disabling advertising. Another plus is the availability of Megogo, Netflix and other platforms. Use DLNA over a wire (not everything can be read over Wifi)

previously indicated (see my previous review)
Overall, I’m incredibly pleased with the TV; for the price, for me, it’s top and bottom.

Via WiFi via DLNA you can transmit (from any PC) multimedia content, up to 4K HDR (but keep in mind that if the bitrate of the film is about 69 Mbit, for example, Total Recall (2012), then viewing will be with pauses of several seconds every half minute -minute, even if the film comes from an SSD and from a nearby WiFi - up to 10 meters) with a choice of audio tracks and subtitle language.
Remember - a lot depends on the video source and the TV settings (there is a review on it on ultrahd-su, which shows the best picture settings). Be sure to buy HDMI 2.0b or later for it
Natural Motion (reduces the blur of fast moving objects) works great, but with the “maximum” setting, every 5 seconds a very short but noticeable drop in frames appears (freeze brake), but after that everything is fine again (this is with 4K HDR video, but on more I didn’t notice it in low quality), but considering how dynamic scenes are transformed, it’s forgivable. An alternative option is to use SVP in Potplayer by 7sh3, Smooth Motion in MadVR or True Motion in Cyberlink PowerDVD
In the video card settings, set YCbCr 4:2:0 8bpc12bpc and watch 4KHDR movies via Cyberlink PowerDVD
Also, some of the image settings will not be available (they will not be visible) when viewed from a PC, if the TV does not detect it as fully compatible. This can be determined by selecting options in the “Settings” menu - “picture style” (if it says “not available in this mode”, it means there is no full compatibility).
+ Price (taking into account the advantages)
+ Anti-glare filter (comfortable TV viewing in a lit room)
+ Impressive (for me) picture quality - natural colors, and clarity and detail, thanks to the P5 processor (it appeared in budget Philips models only in 2020), even low-quality video (with a resolution below 4K) looks better on this TV in 4K mode than on my LG D2342P monitor. The HDR effect (in the corresponding video) is expressive and I (not a demanding user, since there is nothing to compare the picture with) don’t need anything more (colors, dark and bright areas create immersion like in a real cinema). If the video resolution is lower than 4K, then it is automatically processed and takes on a higher quality appearance (the film Cloverfield Paradox with a resolution of 1024x426 with a meager bitrate of 1.86 Mbit looked like in a movie theater - good detail, clarity and colors, looks an order of magnitude better than the same film on cheap TV monitors).
+ Video smoothing "Natural Motion" (frame interpolation) is possible using the TV itself - at the "Maximum" setting there is no blurring of fast moving objects (even at 4K), but with brakes (read the comment).
+ Supports modern video and audio formats
+ DLNA support
+ Built-in help for TV settings
+ I could only see the pixels when I stood close to the TV (20-30 cm) - this is cool considering the diagonal
- The menu is inconvenient in places, since you can’t go from top to bottom by pressing “up” everywhere, and HDR settings are not available (not even visible as options) until the TV is connected to the appropriate mode - because of this, you won’t immediately understand that these settings are there , are simply not active.
- Limited functionality of the operating system (this is not Android), but for me this is not critical at all, since I connect this TV to a PC
- The Youtube application works every once in a while (I still don’t understand why this is connected - the Internet speed and signal quality have always been sufficient), but it works quickly and it is convenient, it plays 4K content there without problems.
- There are no analogue (RCATulips) audio inputs (there is an SPDIF digital one, but my 5.1 system does not have such an output)
- The viewing angles of the VA matrix are small (unlike IPS) - the same as on my LG D2342P monitor with a TN matrix. But thanks to the VA matrix (in my case with Philips 50PUS7555/50PUS7505) the black color has a larger range (good black level) - dark places will be really dark (black)
Остапенко Игорьuse Philips 50PUS7555 less than month
