The more land, the greater the need for a motorized mechanical assistant. I remember that once my parents had a small garden of 6 acres, so my father and brother and I cheerfully dug it up with ordinary bayonet shovels. But now I need to work on a solid plot of 32 acres, and here you already get bored with shovels and rakes, even with three of us this is a task for at least a week. And then, if you work from dawn to dusk. Therefore, without thinking twice, I consulted with knowledgeable people, I bought this cultivator or two-wheel tractor, it is called differently. First of all, I will say that this is an Italian brand and at least the engine and main parts are made in Italy. This increases its price, but gives a two-year warranty and some confidence in the reliability of the device. The engine is light, gasoline, but powerful enough for 6 horses. It's an economical 180cc, air-cooled four-stroke that runs on 92 or 95 petrol. Starts without problems, it usually takes up to a minute. I would like to praise a comfortable steering wheel that can be adjusted along two axes, good transport wheels and a high-quality two-section set of cutters (6 cutters in total, three on each side). With a processing width of 80 centimeters, things are arguing and now I do as much in an hour as I could do by hand in a whole day. The engine is good, economical, powerful, but how noisy it is! I had to buy special headphones in the construction market, but even in them it is not very convenient in the summer heat - they soar very much. There are also questions about the build quality, here it seems that our crafty craftsmen have done their best. |
Italian quality
The rotary motor cultivator Oleo-Mac MH 175 RK from the Italian manufacturer of garden equipment is a light model (60 kg) with a petrol engine, which is designed to break clods and loosen the soil. This agile mid-capacity farm machine is great for home use, delivering high performance tillage even for inexperienced users. The cultivator is powered by a single-cylinder air-cooled motor Emak K 800 H OHV with a power of 4.4 kW (volume 182 cm3), which spins the output shaft in the speed range of 1400 – 3600 rpm. The engine is designed to work with gasoline having an octane rating of 89. The fuel tank capacity is 3 liters, and the volume of the crankcase for oil filling is 0.6 liters. The motor is started manually with a starter cable, and the torque is transmitted using a chain reducer with gear wheels.
Only one forward speed
As the main attachment, a set of 6 reciprocating cutters with 4 knives, which are 3 pcs. are symmetrically mounted on the working shaft, and 2 safety discs can be additionally fixed on the end flanges. The motor hoe does not have outstanding characteristics of cutting the soil: the maximum width of the working front is 82 cm, but the maximum depth of tillage is only 16 cm. adjust both horizontally and vertically. Select levers for 1 forward and 1 reverse gear are located on the handle, which provides quick switching of the direction of travel. The machine cheerfully runs forward at a speed of 8.4 km/h, providing high-quality loosening of the soil, and backs up at a speed of 3.5 km/h. I must say that despite the built-in silencer, the motor is quite noisy (83 dB), so for long-term work with the unit, it will not be superfluous to stock up on protective headphones.
