The easiest tool among Makita renovators
Makita M9800KX2 is the "youngest" model in the Makita family of network renovators. It is not as powerful as "adult" models like the Makita TM3000CX1J. The engine has only 200 watts — more or less normal for domestic purposes, but professionals will experience a lack of power. On the other hand, thanks to the small motor, the weight of the tool has been reduced to a minimum (the device weighs only 1.2 kg). Working with such a lightweight device in your hands will be more convenient and less tiring.

With the help of a “twist”, the frequency of the spindle oscillations can be adjusted from 15 to 22K movements per minute. The attachment system is traditional (replaceable nozzles are tightened and unscrewed with a hex wrench). Makita branded accessories comply with the OIS standard. Therefore, you can use not only "native" equipment, but also all types of straight and segmented saw blades, sanding plates and scrapers from other manufacturers that adhere to the same system: Bosch, Dremel, AEG, Stanley, etc.
Red "Makita" is not worse than blue
The "red" Makita (sometimes called Maktec) is produced at the same factories as the regular "blue". The mechanics are exactly the same, but the electronics are slightly “cut down”. That is, the difference between them is only in the colour of the case and the almost complete absence of “bells and whistles” and additional functions. However, with this configuration, the manufacturer allowed himself some excesses. Makita M9800KX2 comes with a case, a small set of nozzles and an adapter for connecting a vacuum cleaner. If all this seems superfluous and unnecessary to you, then you can buy the Makita M9800 (exactly the same renovator, but without accessories) and pay one and a half times less.
