Classic uninterruptible power supplies for a computer require only a short period of uptime to save the results of work and properly shut down the system. But I needed an uninterruptible power supply, from which the computer could work autonomously for up to 4-5 hours. And do not tell me that there are laptops for this. There are no laptops with two 27-inch monitors, and these are the areas I need for work. So I bought such an uninterruptible power supply and supplemented it with a special super-capacious 150 Ah battery (an epic thing, hefty, weighs 42 kg, has a low self-discharge and is designed specifically for use with uninterruptible power supplies). It can power a load up to 400 W, but I usually have a much weaker load. The computer consumes from 80-90 watts in idle time to 180-200 watts under load, to which it adds two LED-backlit monitors (37 watts each) and a router of about 10 watts. Total goes from about 120 to 290 watts. Under normal use, that is, with a mixed load, but with one monitor, it lasts for about 5 - 5.5 hours, when working with two monitors, 4.5-5 hours. As you can see, it was not in vain that I took the battery with a margin, the ampere-hours in it are clearly of the Chinese system of units. In addition to the function of an emergency power supply, it is also a good stabilizer. There are two years warranty. Takes a very long time to charge a large battery. The whole system cost me about 8,000 hryvnia, which is a lot. But now I can not interrupt important work even when the power is turned off, which unfortunately happens in our village much more often than we would like. The local mayor has been promising a new substation for a year and a half, but the power engineers have not even begun work there yet, they are not at all interested in this campaign. |
