23.8 inch Full HD monitor with good viewing angles, made in a modern "frameless" design. This model is designed for both domestic and limited professional use. The monitor has a really thin frame with a width of 7 to 9 mm and an interesting ArcLine stand in terms of design. The screen size dimensions are standard and are 60.4 cm at a resolution of 1920x1080. Such parameters provide an average pixel density of 92 ppi or 36 pixels / cm.

The screen is based on an 8-bit (using the FRC method) IPS-type matrix with backlight on white W-LEDs (without pulse-width modulation and characteristic unpleasant flicker). The matrix of the LG 24MP88HV monitor has good colour reproduction (fullness of coverage of sRGB colour spaces is 99 percent), a maximum brightness of 250 cd/m2, a static contrast ratio of 1000:1, and excellent comfortable viewing angles (up to 178 degrees).

The outer surface of the screen received a high-quality matte anti-reflective film, so you can comfortably work with it under any ambient light conditions. The response time of the matrix is pretty standard and is 5 ms for the GtG method and 14 ms for BtW. In fact, when using the Overdrive (medium intensity) function, the screen provides a fairly clear, blur-free image when watching dynamic films and handles well with action games. An analogue D-Sub VGA port and two digital HDMI connectors are provided for connecting a signal source. In addition, the monitor is additionally equipped with MaxxAudio stereo speakers (2x5W).

If you need 24" FullHD, then take it, you won't find anything better today!

For a very long time I thought about not leaving it, everything in it is beautiful, only small highlights on black in the dark made me sad. I thought maybe I needed to buy something 2-3 times more expensive to avoid this problem, but after reading the review of the LG 27UD68-W monitor with the same AH-IPS matrix only even cooler Ultra HD, 10 bit with 1 billion colors on board , I realized that all AH-IPS matrices, without exception, have this problem, even for $500, even for $700. Here is the link, please do not delete it https://4k-monitor.ru/news/po_sovremennym_standartam_obzor_i_testirovanie_igrovogo_4k_monitora_s_freesync_lg_27ud68_w/
I quote “On a black field, Glow manifests itself in all its glory, which is the norm for all AH-IPS matrices without exception. The 27UD68 suffers to the fullest and “highlights”, depending on the chosen viewing angle, can disappear and appear in other places. This is still the case monitor on an AH-IPS matrix, and also with a fairly large screen diagonal. I can give only one piece of advice - reduce the brightness to a comfortable minimum. Then the flare will appear smaller, and Glow will be less annoying."
I found an option in which you can see perfect black in the dark without much highlighting; an almost uniform black is obtained. We set the mode to “Custom”, the brightness to 0, the black level is low (this is the key to ideal black color), and the black stabilizer is set to 70 and higher.
I also spoke with LG support, they sent an example of unacceptable highlights http://www.picshare.ru/view/7377608/
I hope I helped someone :)

Flagship anyway!

I waited 2 months for it to appear here, I was thinking about getting it in Poland. I changed more than 1 piece. Everyone walked with highlights (against a black background in pitch darkness) otherwise they would not be visible. To identify them, set the mode to Custom, brightness to 100%, Black level to low, Black stabilizer to -0, fill it with black and turn off the light.
Some had lights with white corners, others had white stripes at the bottom like a sieve. Basically there were highlights in 2 corners, in the 3rd corner they were very small.
I decided to leave the latter because without large white highlights, it is almost uniform black, there are small covenants somewhere between black gray and yellow, when I watch a movie at night they are not particularly visible.
If you set the “Custom” mode and set the black level to high in it or simply select “reading mode 1”, then no highlights on black in the dark will be visible, the black will be absolutely uniform (in this mode, black in the dark without highlights since black is no longer as black as it should be, it's like washed black or a mixture of black and gray.
But if you want to see PERFECT black in the Dark, then there will be slight highlights, and they will depend on which side of the screen you stand on and how strong the viewing angle is used. In daylight or lamp light, you can enjoy perfect blacks without any glare!

BOMB design! Of all that is currently available on the market, it has the thinnest frames in the world (Infinity Blade), this is now the absolute flagship among all 24" FullHD. After it, it’s hard to look at other monitors with ears.
I didn’t expect that the speakers here would be good, I also use the Digital Power Station program, the sound is good.
There is no flicker. Reading mode - this mode is harmful to eye health, the blue spectrum is removed. You can hang it on the wall, not every $300-400 monitor has this option.
I set “reading mode 1” and brightness to 0, so you can easily work from morning to night on it, your eyes don’t get tired.
Using the OnScreen Control program, you can adjust basic monitor settings without fiddling with the joystick, and you can divide the screen into parts for multitasking.
If you give up the reference black in exchange for black and gray, you won’t see any highlights in the dark on a black background, everything will be absolutely even. To do this, you need to set “Black Level - High” in “Custom” mode or set “Reading Mode 1”. In daylight or lamp light, you can enjoy perfect blacks without any glare!
“Black stabilizer” in dark scenes makes the picture more visible; the higher its value, the better the dark moments on the screen are visible, and highlights on black in the dark with its high value become less noticeable.
The price today is $230-240, anything higher is an overpayment. The previous model 24mp77 cost $180.
Of the options for adjusting the position of the screen, we only have access to tilting back and forth, and even then within 25 degrees. But if the story is on the wall, then you can adjust it as you wish.
Since in reading mode, which is harmful to the health of the eyes, the blue spectrum is removed so that you can read longer without fatigue, the white may not seem the same as usual, but perhaps yellow (warm white), and black in this mode also changes to black-gray , but you quickly get used to it.
An HDMI cable could have been included in the kit instead of VGA; in Europe, the USA, and Japan it is included in the kit. 2016, who needs a VGA cable when buying FullHD?
I advise you to turn off Smart Energy Saving, otherwise the brightness will jump from darker to brighter.
The speakers are at full volume (if the monitor is set to 100% they make a buzzing sound, I have HDMI connected). If you put 30-50% everything is fine!
Blinking bright white indicator when the PC is turned off, you have to turn off the monitor at night.
