Inexpensive Household Grade Drain Pump
Equipment of this class, such as Karcher SP 1 Dirt, is called entry-level pumps. Due to the low-power engine (250 W), the performance of this device does not exceed 5.5 m³ / h, and the maximum head is 4.5 m. But even such characteristics are quite enough to drain garden ponds and pump water from pools or flooded boats. Although the pump cannot create a pressure of more than 0.5 bar, this is often enough to organize irrigation in the country, if water is taken from a barrel or a shallow reservoir. The device can work in manual and automatic modes. In manual mode, it works non-stop until 25 mm of water remains in the reservoir or tank (“this model cannot pump dry”). And in the “auto” mode, the device turns on and off with a float depending on the liquid level.
Simple but secure
The body and impeller are made of plastic, so the pump is light (it weighs only 3.7 kg). It has a handle for which the device can be carried in the hands or hung on a rope when immersed in a container or lowering the Karcher into a well. The device works almost silently — this is a huge plus against the background of growling "state employees" of Chinese or east european production.
Despite the low price and simple design, Karcher SP 1 Dirt is durable (the manufacturer gives a 5-year warranty, subject to registration on the site). It has a ceramic mechanical seal that protects the impeller shaft from dirt getting inside. The device does not require maintenance during operation (except for rinsing with clean water after each use). Therefore, even your elderly relatives or people who are completely unfriendly with technology will cope with it. The Quick Connect system allows you to connect the hose to the spigot without fiddling with clamps.

But I bought again exactly the same, because I liked it a lot. The handle is very handy on it, it is convenient to carry. And it says it's for dirty water. And my cellar is drowning endlessly, and the water there is not clean at all. There is still a comfortable float. When it goes down, the pump stops pumping water. In short, I advise everyone who often has to pump out water.
