For almost 50 years, Ceratec Audio Design, a private company from Bremen, has been famous for its ability to create beautiful, high-quality, functional and not cheap acoustic systems. The shelf model of the Effeqt Mini mk III series costs about $2000. Let's see if it's worth it.

Impeccable appearance

Cylindrical speaker cabinets measuring 27x13x13 cm are made of aluminium and have a relief surface, characteristic of the entire Effeqt line. The system is offered in basic black, silver and gold colours. But if you need another one, the company can make it to order in any colour from the RAL palette. The original image of the Effeqt Mini mk III is emphasized by a stylish tempered glass stand and removable matte grills in the colour of the case.

"Hardware" to match

The manufacturer did a great job not only on the appearance, but also on the design. The closed damped cabinet guarantees precise resonance control and a solid sound without obvious distortion.

Two 4-inch paper cone bass/midrange drivers and a 1.2-inch neodymium magnet tweeter with a separate acoustic chamber do an excellent job with the claimed 80-25,000 Hz range.

The horizontal pairing of the woofers under the tweeter made it possible to improve the phase response and achieve a clearer mids and rich, although not deep bass. To permanently close the issue of low frequencies, a subwoofer would be useful. But even without it, all speakers are perfectly coordinated with each other, and massive gold-plated terminals provide a reliable connection to the amplifier.

Summarizing, let's say that we failed to find fault with the Ceratec Effeqt Mini mk III. For its compact size, the system impresses with its purity and power of sound, the quality of materials, which, coupled with positioning in the premium segment, fully justifies its cost.
