In terms of power, the Blaupunkt BC5010 corded trimmer approximately corresponds to the average household-class gasoline lawn mower. A powerful motor (1400 W) allows you to quickly and confidently cope with different types of vegetation: from lawn grass to weeds and young shrubs. The tool comes complete with two cutting attachments, each of which is “sharpened” for specific tasks. A traditional mowing head (cutting width 42 cm) with a line with a diameter of 1.6 mm is designed for mowing lawn grass and other plants (up to 15 cm in height) that may appear in a more or less well-groomed area. The trimmer is equipped with a semi-automatic reel (new portions of fishing line are released from the spool by lightly tapping the trimmer on the ground). The three-bladed steel knife, which has a diameter of 25.5 cm, is designed for cutting tougher vegetation, such as large weeds with thick stems, young shoots and even thin branches of bushes.
Powerful engine: advantages and disadvantages
Like many other powerful trimmers, the electric motor is located on top - this way it is better protected from debris and moisture getting inside the engine. But it should be noted that under heavy loads in hot weather, the motor may not have enough air for cooling. Therefore, the manufacturer recommends using this trimmer in this mode: after 15 minutes of operation, the tool should be given 15 minutes of rest.
A good trimmer with good ergonomics
In terms of ergonomics, there are no special complaints about the Blaupunkt BC5010 trimmer. It has a regular straight rod that can be disassembled into two parts so that the tool can be transported in the trunk of a car or put in a box for the winter. The handle has a bicycle shape (U-shape). The controls are located on the right handle. The start key is long enough, so it will be comfortable for people with any palm size. The disadvantages include a fairly noticeable weight (6.3 kg - a “side effect” of a powerful motor). But this feature is partially compensated by the presence of a belt, which allows you to hang garden equipment on your shoulder and relieve your hands from the load.
