The ASRock B550M Phantom Gaming 4 is a micro-ATX gaming motherboard designed for use in compact mid-range gaming systems designed for gaming at 1080p and 1440p resolutions. Belongs to the entry-level price segment and is a member of the Phantom Gaming family, which includes affordable and at the same time well-balanced motherboards for gamers. Thanks to its affordable price and modern equipment, it can become an alternative to classic motherboards for office and multimedia PCs.
The board runs system logic with support for the PCI Express 4.0 interface, which makes it possible to use modern video cards and SSDs with the highest possible data transfer speed. The existing AM4 socket is designed to work in tandem with Ryzen 3000, 4000 and 5000 series processors and hybrid models with the “G” index. Considering the use of a far from powerful power converter, the best option for installation would be a mid-level Ryzen 5 processor with a not very high TDP.
The presence of VRM heatsinks helps to effectively remove heat from critical areas, increasing system stability under high loads. ASRock B550M Phantom Gaming 4 is equipped with four DDR4 RAM slots, supporting dual-channel operation with a maximum clock speed of up to 4733 MHz (note: when using XMP overclocking profiles). The maximum supported memory is 128 GB, which is more than enough for most gaming and professional applications.
To connect drives, there are four SATA 3 ports and two M.2 slots, one of which supports both SATA and PCI-E interfaces, and the second - exclusively PCI-E, allowing you to install high-speed SSDs. Like most members of the Phantom Gaming series, this model is equipped with reinforced slots for connecting video cards and supports paired Crossfire video card operation. The network card based on the Realtek RTL8111H controller provides reliable network connectivity at speeds of up to 1 Gbps. In terms of video outputs, the board offers HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, allowing you to connect to modern 2K/4K monitors and TVs with overclocked refresh rates.
