Flagship high performance 16-core desktop processor based on the Zen 3 microarchitecture (Vermeer core, 7nm). Designed for installation in motherboards equipped with AMD AM4 processor socket and AMD 500 series chipsets (compatibility with motherboards based on B450/X470 chipsets depends on the manufacturer). It is the top representative of the third generation of the 2020 AMD Ryzen family of consumer CPUs.
Unlike the 16-core model of the second generation, this processor has improved internal design (the transition to a two-chip layout has reduced inter-core delays) and significantly improved the architecture of functional blocks, which increased the specific performance (up to + 19% IPC). Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) technology allows each of the 16 physical cores of the AMD Ryzen 9 Vermeer processor to run two threads simultaneously (up to 32 threads).
This CPU is suitable for creating the ultimate performance multi-purpose PC, top-end gaming system or workstation. Easily cope with resource-intensive tasks of processing multimedia content (editing and compressing ultra-high resolution video, working with ultra-detailed photos, etc.). Suitable for final rendering of photorealistic renderings. It will be useful when performing complex engineering calculations. I put on Wind Refrigeration, Dark Rock 4, and everything is wonderful. It never gets above 70 degrees in the summer. Clean the head carefully, without changing the thermal paste for 16 months, but there is no chance of damaging the legs during this process.
