At work, at our university, October has been turning into a struggle for survival for many years now. More precisely, the fight against freezing, because in October we never turn on the heating. In the best case, the heating season starts in November and then not from the first days. Students are cold and sick, teachers wrap themselves up and turn on the entire arsenal of heating devices that they can find, not to mention devices and laboratory work that simply cannot be carried out at temperatures of 10-12 degrees. At the end of last spring, my faithful assistant in the fight against the cold - an old fan heater died for a long time and I had to buy something new. The choice fell on this convector and I must say that the choice turned out to be quite successful. This is not just a convector, it is a convector with a built-in fan, which is important when you come to work in the morning and you don’t smile at all to wait about an hour for natural convection to do its good deed. The fan mixes and warms up the air noticeably faster. The power is good, two kilowatts of heat quickly raise the temperature in the room to a comfortable 19-20 degrees, and then, when such power is no longer needed, you can reduce it to 1250 or 750 watts and turn off the fan. Another advantage of this model is its relatively small size. Officially, such devices cannot be used at the university, and firefighters periodically check compliance with this rule, so the size and ability to quickly remove the convector into the closet is also important to me. The first five or six days there was an unpleasant smell of hot metal and overheated plastic, after two weeks it is almost gone. |
